NHL Free Agency Tracker 2025

The Stanley Cup finals are underway between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers but for many teams and fans, the anticipation is towards the NHL draft on June 27th and the opening of Free Agency on July 1st. This is a Free Agency tracker of all Free Agent players (who have played a minimum of 10 NHL games during the 2024-25 NHL season) along with Signing Grades.

A solid player during his career with 1,884 blocked shots, Martinez is most known for the scoring the Stanley Cup winning goal for the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.

The Maple Leafs now have more flexibility in order to fill out some of the missing pieces offensively for next season. Some of the workload and pressure is lifted off John as he may slot into a third line center role next season depending on who Toronto can acquire in the offseason.

The Dallas Stars are now in a difficult cap situation with a projected cap space under $1 million. This signing looks to guarantee the departure of Jamie Benn, Evgenii Dadonov, Cody Ceci and Mikael Granlund unless some trades are made.

The contract is loaded with $3 million in potential bonuses but Jamie Benn works with Dallas to re-sign on a very team friendly deal. He was earning $9.5 million last season and the drop in pay will allow Dallas to possibly make some moves to afford other key pieces as they seek a Stanley Cup. An amazing contract.

After a breakout season in 2024-25 with career highs in Goals, Points and games played; Ryan Donato opted to stay in Chicago for four more seasons. Donato was on track to be one of the higher ranked Centers available in Free Agency for the offseason, but he left some money on the table and signed for a lower AAV to remain with the Blackhawks.

Known for his physical and defensive style in the bottom six, Frederic has never scored more than 18 goals or 40 points in a regular season. The Oilers need him to improve on his output of 15 points in 58 games last season or else this contract will age very poorly.

The 2024–25 season was a rollercoaster for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
